Read-a-Thon 2026!

Calling all readers from March 9th to March 19th, 2026! Choose a book, find a cozy spot, and get ready to read! 

Celebrate Reading Month by reading March 9th to March 19th to raise money for the Sligo Creek Education Foundation, which funds the Outdoor Classroom and more!

First, talk to your family and friends and ask them to pledge per minute of reading or a set dollar amount. 

Then, record how much time you spend reading each day in a reading log that we will link here (don't worry: Reading-a-Thon minutes also count toward reading homework assigned by your teacher). 

We ask parents/guardians to help students keep track of their reading minutes and sign their reading logs.

Bring the reading log and the collected funds that don't come via Venmo, Zelle or credit card (which you can use here: https://www.sligocreekef.org/donate) to school and turn it in to your student's teacher or Ms. Miller by Monday, March 23rd.

Students can read all genres: magazines, newspapers, books, comics, etc. For children who cannot read independently, every minute a book is read to them counts! Our goal is to foster fluent and engaged reading and to increase the joy and love of reading for all students. Thank you for your help and happy reading!
